Roger Gilmore has brought to Destination Pacific a wealth of experience in travel and hospitality. Since 1981 he has occupied in the United State of America, a number of positions in the industry. These include roles at the Orlando/Orange Convention Bureau, the Long Beach Area Convention and Visitors Council, the Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Greater Atlantic City Convention and Visitors Bureau and, from 1992-1998 the New York and later Los Angeles based Queensland Tourist and Travel Corporation.

Within these organizations his responsibilities have included marketing, sales, tourism, visitor services, staff management, information processing and data analysis. Of particular importance has been his recent successful work for Queensland, aimed at identifying association and corporate business in the Americas interested in considering off shore destinations, and in particular Australia, for their meetings and incentive operations. This involved establishing a strong database relative to Australian tourism, creating appropriate cooperative marketing opportunities with the Australian hospitality industry and organising associated tradeshows, sales calls direct mail and telemarketing initiatives.

Roger's extensive experience in travel and hospitality combined with his specialised understanding of the North American convention/incentive industry provides Destination Pacific Australia and New Zealand with a valuable asset. His value is further enhanced by his in-depth knowledge of the Australian scene (with over 40 trips to Australia) and his appreciation of Australia's potential as a leader in world tourism.
