Professor Gary Simpson AM has worked with Heather in travel since 1996. During this time he as acted as Cultural Program Advisor with a range of duties. These include itinerary recommendations relating to meetings with key personnel in the arts field, attendance at cultural events and visits to institutions of potential interest to overseas visitors. He is also responsible for providing lecture/workshops programs on matters of cultural interest as well as acting as an expert guide on related field trips and excursions.

Gary comes with high credentials to equip him for such tasks. Apart from his academic background in Educational Philosophy, he has occupied prominent positions in the development of the Arts in Australia. During the 1980's he was a Member of the Australian Council and Chairman of the Theatre Board of that organization, which is Australia's primary arts funding body at the national level. In the area of State funding for the arts he held the position of Chairman of the New South Wales Arts Advisory Council during the period 1988 - 1998. His interests in arts administration continue into the new millennium through Directorships and Trusteeships in a number of private arts funding bodies. In recognition for his work in such areas, Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth the Second appointed him in 1993, Member of the General Division of the Order of Australia (AM), the Nation's highest system of honors.

Gary's in-depth understanding of Australian culture, with particular emphasis on arts, history and social trends provides Destination Pacific with a valuable resource when designing programs to meet the needs of clients interested in getting to know about the way people 'live' Down Under.
